Hamas Continues Intimidation of Fatah in Gaza

It appears that Fatah and Hamas aren't going to be getting together for a real kumbaya picnic and bonfire anytime soon as Hamas officials just got done releasing some Fatah officials they had arrested for ...lemme see how Hamas would deem it....getting together illegally and conspiring? Anyway, Fatah is bitching about it and it does seem rather inevitable that we're gonna see some dead bodies in Gaza in the near future...I know, I know...a real shame it would be, wouldn't it? Here's the details of the latest incident from Haaretz:

Hamas Islamists in the Gaza Strip released at least eight leaders from the rival Fatah faction of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, hours after they were arrested for questioning, Fatah officials said on Saturday. The Hamas-run Interior Ministry in the Gaza Strip said the Fatah men were detained for questioning after holding an "illegal factional meeting". Fatah officials later confirmed that the three men had been released.

A spokesman for Fatah said that Hamas had launched a new crackdown on its officials in the Gaza Strip. Fahmi al-Zaarir said Hamas security forces had arrested the officials throughout the coastal territory in a bid to prevent Fatah from regrouping.
I defy you to find one leftist Western proponent for an official Palestinian state who has ever addressed the complete incompetence of ANY faction in this land of imbeciles to govern anything larger than a city block.

I mean, I could go on for hours about how BOTH Hamas and Fatah are terrorist organizations but what no one has ever addressed is that the people living in the palestinian territories would more or less be dead in a year under the government of these morons. The only thing that keeps these people fed is checks handed over to Hamas and Fatah by the American State Department as a reward for killing and attacking Israelis.

Hamas frees Fatah's Gaza officials hours after arrest

Hamas Islamists in the Gaza Strip released at least eight leaders from the rival Fatah faction of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, hours after they were arrested for questioning, Fatah officials said on Saturday. The Hamas-run Interior Ministry in the Gaza Strip said the Fatah men were detained for questioning after holding an "illegal factional meeting". Fatah officials later confirmed that the three men had been released. They said among those held was Abdel-Rahman Hamad, a former minister in the Palestinian Authority, who had been meeting fellow Fatah members in the city of Gaza.

A spokesman for Fatah said that Hamas had launched a new crackdown on its officials in the Gaza Strip. Fahmi al-Zaarir said Hamas security forces had arrested the officials throughout the coastal territory in a bid to prevent Fatah from regrouping. Hamas ousted Fatah from Gaza in a bloody coup in 2007. Since then, the Islamist group has periodically detained Fatah activists. Last week, the rival Palestinian groups adjourned reconciliation talks in Egypt without a breakthrough on the shape or agenda of a national unity government. The Israel Defense Forces, meanwhile, reported Thursday that during its in offensive in Gaza earlier this year, Hamas executed 14 members of Fatah. Shortly after the conflict, Hamas accused Fatah of collaborating with Israel in the campaign by providing the Israel Air Force with intelligence on targets.

Someone needs to accelerate the friction between these two worthless terrorist groups. Plant false statements and evidence to prod these rabid dogs into decimating their own ranks.

Brent,

I agree...it would be a glorious sight to see hundreds of Hamas and Fatah dead in the streets for about a month straight while they vie for power in Gaza and the West Bank. They are getting close to doing this on their own but a little nudge would go a long way.
