Granted, this isn't exactly the most compelling news item of the day but I thought it was absolutely shocking to see a modern day Liberal so confident that he would put this "1984" type of nanny state announcement out there for the American people to see.
Governor Mark Dayton is a Communist. He is as progressive as Lenin and Mao ever were. In his vetoing a bill passed by the Minnesota legislature that would allow the sale of fireworks in the state of Minnesota, Governor Dayton made this proclamation in his letter of veto:
In a letter to legislators, he said that while most Minnesotans are responsible, “some are not.”
“It is the government’s foremost responsibility to protect the safety and well-being of its citizens,” Dayton wrote.
He added: “Sometimes, it requires laws to protect people from themselves.”
