Taliban Attack Police HQ In Kabul, 3 Officers Dead

Next year, in 2014, Barack Hussein Obama will see that all U.S. troops will withdraw from Afghanistan and the plan is for the Afghan army and security forces to hold off the Taliban from taking back the country.  To realize just how ludicrous that all is...consider that five Taliban held the entire headquarters of the police in Kabul, the nation's capital, at bay for the past nine hours and ended up killing three police officers.

But as Vice President Joe Biden would say, we'll just fight a tactical war in 2014 and send a few drones in to keep the order and be sure the Taliban will not take over.

I really hate to start off a Monday with this much sarcasm.

The story comes from DAWN.

Taliban attack on Kabul police HQ kills three officers

KABUL: A Taliban raid of the Kabul traffic police headquarters is over and three police officers and at least five insurgents have been killed in the hours-long fighting, police said.

Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi said the battle ended more than nine hours after it began early Monday with a car bomb attack against the front gate of the building.

He said four traffic policemen had also been wounded in the fighting.

Mohammad Ayub Salangi said another 10 people were wounded.

He said two Taliban suicide bombers were killed at the gate, another blew himself up inside the building and another two were killed by security forces before they managed to detonate their vests.
